Degradation of Sex and Marriage in America
God’s design for marriage is set forth in scripture as one man and one woman in a covenant of marriage until death parts them. The purposes are mutual benefit, enjoyment, and the procreation of children.
Until about 70 years ago, the above definition of marriage in Western Civilization was assumed, protected, and promoted.
Adultery, sex outside of marriage, homosexuality, prostitution, etc. were certainly present but socially unacceptable and often illegal.
THEN in the mid-20th Century, things began to change significantly.
Sex was separated from a life-long marriage covenant by prostitution and no-fault divorce.
Sex was separated from procreation by birth control and abortion.
Sex was separated from gender by homosexuality.
Sex was separated from the need for a second person by pornography and masturbation.
Instead of sex being for MUTUAL benefit, enjoyment and procreation, sex became merely self-satisfaction.
Study after study has shown the resulting degradation has left human beings unhappy, unhealthy, and lonely.
