Internet Resources for Bible Study
Compiled by Dr. Jerry Nelson (www.soundliving.org) – May, 2010
About a year ago I asked many preacher friends what websites they have found to be most helpful in their teaching/preaching preparation. I compiled a list of them and added my own comments.
http://www.monergism.com/ Mongergism (This is “hands down” the best site I have accessed!!) “Classic Articles and Resources of the Historic Christian Faith. Broadly “reformed” in theology.
http://reformed.org/index.html “Center for Reformed Theology and Apologetics. Historic Church Documents
http://zoecity.com/?sort=month “Zoecity scans hundreds of Christian websites and highlights the top ten daily, weekly, and monthly articles, stories and videos.
www.ccel.org Christian Classics Ethereal Library
www.preachingtoday.com/illustrations (Paid) This is great for illustrations and preaching resources
www.christianitytoday.com/ct This still gives an overview of key issues from the week, and usually has resources around special holidays.
www.desiringgod.org Desiring God (John Piper)
www.sermonlinks.com Sermon Links
www.reformation21.org On-line magazine of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals
www.churchtimeline.com Church history timeline
http://thegospelcoalition.org/resources/category/articles/a#ByTopic Articles, etc of The Gospel Coalition
www.biblegateway.com A Bible search tool with IVP N.T. Commentaries and Matthew Henry Commentaries
The following three websites seem to use the same Bible study tools materials: www.crosswalk.com AND http://bible.christianity.com AND www.biblestudytools.com Commentators from a wide spectrum of evangelical theology (From C.I. Scofield to John Calvin to John Wesley)
http://bible.org/ (Comments largely by Dallas Seminary graduates)
http://www.blueletterbible.org/ Commentators from a wide spectrum of evangelical theology (Lewis Sperry Chafer to a Charles Haddon Spurgeon)
