Difficult times in life often force us to ask, “Where is God?” or “What is He doing?” God’s people are not immune to the temptations to discouragement and even despair. Through studying the book of Exodus, we find three things happening:
- We see how God’s work influences what we think of God
- We see our lives from God’s perspective
- God’s word influences what we think of our circumstances whether good or bad
Exodus chronicles the history of God’s people through what could have been despairing times. Instead, we see the powerful hand of a loving God weaving His plans and purposes throughout human history, giving us hope in that same God.
